Will Golden Hour really help repel mosquitoes?

You bet! Golden Hour's performance has been tested against Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes through two rounds of double-blind testing by an independent lab. While independent results depend on your skin's unique biome, the lab confirmed an average of 3+ hours of protection time for most people. We have hundreds of rave reviews, too!

Use It When

Any time you'd rather not be snacked on by bugs while dining al fresco, sitting around the campfire, or enjoying an evening stroll.

Directions

Once outside, spray liberally over exposed skin or fitted clothing. Use adult supervision when applying to children. When applying to your face or to children, spray into hands first and pat to apply. Do not use on the hands of children. Reapply every 2 hours or as often as needed. We recommend patch testing on a small area of skin when using for the first time or when using in a new environment, as our product contains essential oils.

Recycling

This product is packaged with a mix of recyclable and non-recyclable materials.

Plastic Bottle

Made from Type 1 plastic, this bottle should be cleaned out and recycled curbside. Don't forget to remove the label!

Spray Pump

Spray misters are made from both plastic and metal, so they can't be recycled at home. Instead, send them to us or to Terracycle to be recycled.

Really works

We went to the beach and the park late at night. I sprayed myself but forgot to spray my feet. I had 8 mosquitoes bite on one foot... 0 anywhere else. The mosquitoes loves me so much and this is a lifesaver!

Very potent smelling, best sprayed outside. Works well and didn’t get bit as much as usual. I am a mosquito magnet and get large welts from each bite. This has allowed me to get back outside. Not greasy and dries quickly. I didn’t notice it was on after a couple of minutes

Hard-Working with Surprising Scent

I picked this up mainly because I was intrigued by the branding and reviews. I hate putting on bug spray that makes me smell like I just bathed in perfume. But of course the efficacy is important too. I was getting eaten alive, like normal, while sitting on our patio enjoying a glass of wine.

I applied a few sprays of this, and I swear it was as magical as the golden hour visual phenomenon for which it’s named. No mosquitos came near me the rest of the night.

It does smell (at least to my nose) really strongly of citronella. But I can certainly live with that considering how well it repels the little yard vampires.
