Tubes of Kinfield's Daily Dew SPF 35 lay on a beach blanket with citrus fruit

You asked, we answered—we're tackling your (many!) questions about our newest launch, Daily Dew! Read on to learn all about our new hero sunscreen, and email us at hello@kinfield.com if you still have any burning* questions.

*See what we did there? Burning? Sunscreen? Sorry, we couldn't help ourselves.

Will this product break me out? Is it heavy or greasy?

We tested Daily Dew with our diverse community of Field Testers, and people of all skin tones and types loved it! Daily Dew uses non-nano zinc, which has been shown to help improve the appearance of acne and at times to even help calm the skin and prevent future breakouts (it’s why zinc is the go-to ingredient for calming products like diaper creams!).

Daily Dew is a blendable mineral sunscreen with a medium-weight lotion texture. It’s great for sensitive skin and acne-prone skin alike, and blends quickly to leave skin feeling dewy and bouncy. We also added in moisturizing sea kelp and glycerin to ensure maximum hydration.

How long will 1 tube of Daily Dew last?

With typical use, one tube of Daily Dew should last approximately two months—meaning less than $0.50/day for clean, mineral sun protection!

Will it leave a white cast?
Daily Dew is an untinted mineral sunscreen, so it will appear white out of the tube. However, once applied and blended in, it melts easily into the skin to leave only a dewy finish behind—no white cast in sight.

Is Daily Dew tinted? Do you offer a tinted version?
Daily Dew is untinted—we heard from our community that you wanted an untinted SPF that you could sweat in and apply without working about blending or streaking. We offer a different SPF that is tinted with a luminizing glow, called Sunglow, which you can shop here.

When should I use Daily Dew?

Every day—even when you're indoors. Daily Dew was made to be light enough to wear on your face every day, while also being able to keep up summer heat or any sporty activity. Put it to the test with a surf session, a day on the slopes, or an outdoor workout.

How often should I reapply?

The FDA recommends reapplication every 2 hours to prevent sun damage.

What's the best way to remove Daily Dew at the end of the day?

We recommend using an oil-based cleanser to remove Daily Dew. It is water-resistant, so an oil cleanser will remove it more effectively than a cream-based cleanser.

Where should I store it?

Keep your tube of Daily Dew in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

Is this sunscreen only for the face? Can I use it on my body?

Daily Dew was designed to be safe for everyday use on your face, but you can apply it anywhere you need sun protection. Don’t forget your neck and the tops of your ears!

Is Daily Dew safe for kids?

Yes, Daily Dew is safe for kids. It’s free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances. If you’re at all concerned, you can find the full list of ingredients on the product page for ease of review with your pediatrician.

Is this reef-safe?

Is water wet? Yes! We’re all about making products that are Made Safe for People + Planet here, so we knew from day one that Daily Dew would need to be reef-safe.

Daily Dew is 100% mineral, and made with zinc oxide, which is a physical sunblock. Daily Dew is also free of phenoxyethanol, a commonly used clean preservative that has been shown to inhibit reef re-growth.

Daily Dew is a safe choice to wear in places like Hawaii and Australia that have implemented suncare restrictions due to concerns for reef safety.

What is the texture of Daily Dew?

Daily Dew is a medium weight lotion with a silky, creamy texture. This is how our Field Testers described it:

“Buttery!”

“Ultra rich.”

“Like a hybrid between a rich moisturizer and a daily sunscreen.”

Is Daily Dew broad-spectrum?

Yes! Daily Dew protects against UVA and UVB rays, as well as contains sea kelp and antioxidants that may additionally offer blue light protection.

Is Daily Dew vegan?

Yes it is! All our products at Kinfield are vegan, cruelty-free, and Leaping Bunny certified.

Is Daily Dew made with clean ingredients?

Yes. We believe in making products that are Made Safe for People + Planet, so we work with ingredients that are shown to be safe for use on the skin, without being environmentally damaging.

Unlike many sunscreens, we do not use any PEGs, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, or chemical SPFs—making Daily Dew a go-to choice for anyone looking for a physical SPF that’s earth and skin-friendly.

Does Daily Dew have a scent or added fragrance?

Here’s the thing: we start off making an unscented product, but then found out that zinc smells a bit like paint. Yikes.

We wanted to make the best possible sunscreen that would be delightful to use every day, so we worked with one of the best teams in the business to develop a light signature scent, made only from natural plant oils that you’ll recognize. Our fragrance is certified natural across international standards (ISO 9235).

Daily Dew’s signature breezy, Mediterranean-inspired scent has notes of citrusy bergamot, fresh petitgrain, and mandarin oil, with the lightest touch of grapefruit and lime.

For those with sensitive noses, rest easy—we added it with a light hand (less than 1% of the formula), so you’ll catch a faint waft of it while applying but won’t notice the scent once it’s blended in.

Can I use it while playing sports?

Yes! Daily Dew was made for every day, but able to keep up with any adventure. It is certified to be water resistant for 40+ minutes, so you can sweat, run, and play with abandon—even on the hottest summer days.

Do I need a separate moisturizer, or can I wear Daily Dew on its own?

We added sea kelp, glycerin, and sunflower oil to give Daily Dew a beautifully hydrating effect, but the answer depends on your skin type. If your skin is naturally on the dry side, or if you are applying while in a dry climate (mountains or desert), you may find that you need an additional moisturizer.

If you have oilier skin, or usually find that you don't need much in the way of a moisturizer, you'll likely be a-okay to wear just Daily Dew! Try experimenting to see what works for you.

Is the packaging recyclable?

Yes, Daily Dew is made entirely from recyclable materials. We used a PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) Plastic Tube that can be recycled and a paper box made from SFI-certified cardstock. Some regions aren’t able to accept PCR tubes—if that’s the case, check out our Recycling Program with TerraCycle to see how to recycle it safely.
